I have worked within the plant, automotive and vintage aero industries for over 18 years and have a level 3 qualification in plant maintenance. During this time, I have worked on a huge range of different equipment and vehicles from small 2 stroke chainsaws and strimmers all the way up to massive mobile cranes, trucks and container handlers which has allowed me to gain a large number of mechanical and electrical skills. I have also re-built ignition magnetos that are used on the Rolls Royce engines in the aircraft of the Battle of Britain memorial flight, as well as working in R&D for a company that was developing an electric vehicle. In this role, as well as using my skill as a mechanic, I also specified, designed and built test rigs and control systems to test out components being developed.
In my free time I enjoy doing several out door activities and working to restore my 1989 airport fire truck.
